Opportunities to Go & Do Likewise in the greater Boise area

As part of Bishop Cedrick D. Bridgeforth's call to gather us in-person and online June 8-11, we are taking the opportunity to reflect on how the story of the Good Samaritan impacts our own ministries. We are fortunate to have guest speakers joining us in Meridian to teach us about everything from disaster response to planned financial giving. But we'll also be offering field trips to learn about social justice, affordable housing ministries, and decolonization. The hope is you'll be able to take home what you learn in Meridian and apply it to your local ministry context. Read over the many opportunities available to you Friday and Saturday during Annual Conference!

Deadline to submit GC/JC delegate application April 30

Due to some resignations on Oregon-Idaho's 2020 General/Jurisdictional Conference delegation, we have three openings for reserve delegates in 2024—plus an opening for a jurisdictional lay delegate. First, note that the long-postponed 2020 General Conference is now scheduled to meet in May of 2024, with the same delegation that was elected for 2020. Secondly, we do not yet have clarity on whether we will be able to fill the open spots on the delegation, but we are hopeful and want to be prepared, so we are opening this nominations process now.

For laity: please use this link to complete a form to nominate yourself for election to the delegation (the election will take place at the 2023 OR-ID Annual Conference Session; the delegation will attend the General and Jurisdictional conferences to be held in 2024). A lay delegate must have been a member of a UMC for at least two years, and an active participant in the UMC for at least four years. Clergy received an email on April 5 outlining their process.

Calling all youth! Pages needed in Meridian

With a return to in-person Annual Conference, so, too, do we return to the need for youth pages to help with all kinds of activities during our gathering June 8-11. Pages are a vital part of making our sessions run smoothly. If interested in serving, please fill out this application. Lodging and meals expenses for pages are covered by the Annual Conference.
